Hi all, Shane and Dad here.
Mommy had to go by the Adult Detention Center for a couple of hours on Sunday, so we boys went on a walkabout.
First, we pulled into a nearby parking garage. That alone turned out to be an adventure. We rode the elevator to the very top...
Then, of course, we had to ride on the elevator some more. Eventually, we found ourselves exploring the bottom of the parking garage, but that was much later on the walkabout.
No, after we rode the elevator up and down several times, we hopped off at ground level and found a waterfall.
I guess most people would call it a water fountain, but Shane feels like water spilling counts as falling.
Hence, "water fall."
Shane loved climbing and running on the tops of the walls. I let him do it for as long as my nerves handled it.
We took a rest break on a roadside bench. We got to look at cars and feel the air rush by as they passed us (that bench was crazy close to the road!).
We did have one task to take care of: a surgical book drop strike. The libraries would not open for a couple of hours, but Shane was up to the adventure. We had to walk through another parking garage and run up a ramp (there were no stairs). Thankfully, the place was abandoned so early on a Sunday.
I let Shane do the actual work.
On the way back, we walked through the parking lot of an office park. Shane wanted to go to the Scottish restaurant (McDonald's), but I wanted to avoid it like the plague. I pointed out some stairs and got my wish.
Shane's a total explorer. He impulsively charges after adventure without a second thought. We even stopped to smell the flowers.
We walked around for close to an hour and a half. Shane was tired enough we sat in the middle of the sidewalk to gather energy for one last run (because Shane rarely travels at "walk" speed).
Shane and I enjoyed a meatball sandwich and some light lemonade while we recuperated and waited the last half an hour for Mommy to finish working. I let Shane play Perry on my phone after he finished his half.
Mommy called and we swung by the ADC to pick her up. Mission accomplished!
