Cats get a lot of camera time.
Part of it is Carrie. I know I can send her a pic of Aria on me and elicit a cuteness response.
That and sometimes cats do strange things.
Max's love of boxes is well documented.
But this post is about Loki.
And it starts with him chasing Max out of her box, because he wanted to be cute, too.
Or maybe he just wanted to chew on the box from a certain angle.
He would've happily shared the box with Max, but Loki's not overly aware of personal bubbles. He'd have joyfully wallowed and squished her!
Loki's main focus in on his people. When he senses something generates attention, he learns to repeat it!
If I even start to put on a coat, Loki pops up from wherever he is in the house.
"Now, Dad? Now?"
If I turn toward the back door, Loki runs right to it. "This one, Dad? Oh boy, I'm ready!"
If I change facing and move towards the front door Loki will scamper off to meet me there. "This one? This one is my favorite, too! Let's go, Dad!"
Loki's little brain does a good job of guessing what's next depending on what door he goes out of. Back door? Barn trip. Front door?
Oh, the front door is the favorite. There's a chance we may go up by the road.
And Loki takes off at a spring to lead the way.
He'll stop for a quick pre-game pee to make sure I'm following, but once he hears the magic words, "Go-go-go!" he's gone.
Loki really enjoys pacing cars.
He can't be the fastest dog with his little legs, but he flies.
And his floof waves and poofs in the wind as he goes!
Loki's front paws pass his back feet before those plant and launch him forward far faster than I could ever hope to be.
It's fun to watch him run.
Carrie has expressed an interest in "getting Loki a girlfriend." So far, I've said "No!" Loki fits in perfectly with the kid and the cats and I don't want to upset that balance.
It may happen some day. Shane's all for it! And Max isn't getting any younger at 15+ years old. When she passes on I could see Carrie wanting to add a new animal to fill the void.
But for now, Loki's the house's best boy. He barks at cars, licks cat butts, and keeps things copacetic. What a good boy!
