Sunday started off as usual.
But it changed up when we had to race home to pick up Mom. She met us in the garage and we had to scoot up to Wegmans without delay!
We made it to Jump 11 minutes before the party was set to start! In retrospect, more cushion would have been nice, but we were there and ready before go time! Dane and his grandma were already there. Hazel showed up next.
It was party time for Shane! Happy Birthday, buddy!
We ate pizza outside, because the new pandemic regulations said "No outside food." There were two party rooms where food was allowed, but both of those had been booked by much larger parties.
Carrie chose to sit in the cold and guard our stuff while I went inside to keep an eye on bouncing kids.
And they did bounce!
It was easy at first when they all stuck together. The basketball hoops were the first stop.
Hazel stayed there longer and the boys moved on.
Shane and Dane (it rhymes!) went to dodgeball.
Hazel wanted to go to the Ninja Warrior course, so I went there with her to supervise (there wasn't an employee). I kept an eye on her, so she wouldn't feel alone since she didn't have any interest in dodgeball.
Eventually, I got a text from Carrie that Lilly and Wyatt had arrived. I went outside to meet them and show them where the fun was at.
Their dad came in and joined them in bouncing around. I tried to see if Lilly and Hazel would be bounce buddies, but she stuck with her dad.
Hazel and I found Shane and Dane in the foam pit. They were hiding and throwing foam blocks up at other kids jumping in.
I called Shane out to try and double-bounce with Hazel. It turned out it was against Jump regulations (and what Shane really wanted was to throw more foam blocks!).
Hazel and I went back into the foam pit room. She dug herself a fortress and threw some blocks herself until an employee asked her to stop before she found the bottom.
The kids had 1.5 hours of bouncing time. They might have lasted a little longer, but I don't think any of them could've kept bouncing for 2 hours!
We met up outside for cake!
Carrie commissioned a special cake from the local bakery.
Of course, we sang!
Shane acted a little wonky during the song and swore his stomach hurt, he had a headache, etc. However, he looked fine minutes later.
We opened presents after the cake and the kids all farted and played around until it was time to go.
We went home to rest and recuperate from the party after saying our goodbyes. I *think* we watched a family movie (Ant Man 2?). I do know Shane and I played some Zombie Teenz!
It was not the huge production Shane dreamed of, but there were lots of laughs and bouncing around. I think he came away from the weekend feeling loved! Happy birthday, kiddo. I'm glad God blessed me with being your dad.
