Florencia gave Shane a parting gift. She said that he was really fond of the dalmatian and wanted him to have something to remember her by. "You have a very smart boy!"
If my parents weren't leaving we would have been happy to stay there longer.
Florencia and her husband, Charlie, and the 4 kids (all boys!) who go there will all miss Shane a lot. When I would drop him off in the mornings, the kids would shout "SHANE!" and be all excited and happy to see him. When I dropped him off for the last time yesterday, Charlie told me that they loved Shane and hated to see him go. Charlie said they loved Shane's excitement and energy. Shane was really happy there. Charlie drives a school bus for a Christian school and parked the bus in their driveway. You know how Shane loves buses. And being able to go where he already had his close friend, Bryce, made it perfect.
