The first time Shane tried to play volleyball at the pool he let me show him the set and the bump. We practiced for a minute before heading home that day.
I was so happy that I asked Carrie to order a cheap volleyball on Amazon. "I can show you the basics, so you can be more confident when you play with the other kids!"
Two pool trips later, volleyball was out of style.
The volleyball still arrived and I was surprised when Carrie took an interest! I knew she like the anime Haikyuu, but I didn't think she liked the actual sport.
She got to practicing and Loki got to barking.
The two had a merry time while I laughed and took some pictures.
I even learned one of Carrie's fingertips is crooked from a high school volleyball accident. You learn something new every day!
I took a couple of turns and got up to Carrie's record and she couldn't let that stand. She practiced some more to make sure she had the high score! Ha!
Amazingly, Shane never jumped in. I can't remember if he was on the computer or if he complained about Loki barking while we played around. We could have broke something, so it seemed like the perfect time for Shane to jump in! Hopefully, he will in the future. We have a volleyball now and it'd be a shame to let it go to waste.
