I got behind on blogging again, but it's not wholly my fault! The law of irony struck again.
Thursday was my tech interview.
Monday, my work laptop died.
Tuesday, the school interviewing me requested some samples of work I've done.
No laptop = no access to the school server. Thankfully, I'm good about saving my work on the server and not on my laptop. Otherwise, I'd have been royally screwed when the hard drive blew.
Weekly Bullets:
-Jama came by and saw the house on Saturday! The two remaining foster kids came by too.
-Two foster kids? The oldest has already moved on to a therapeutic home. She plateaued progress-wise, and my parents had trouble dealing with a hostile girl who hated flushing, wiping, and being told to stop bullying her brothers when they were already trying to help with Jama.
-Oh, in case I didn't mention it already, Jama is living with my parents now. She just got checked out of a rehab home yesterday. She's pretty unsteady and needs a walker to get around.
-How long does moving take on average? It's been two weeks now and we're still figuring things out around here. We've made a lot of progress, but it sometimes feels like new tasks keep appearing instead of the list of old ones disappearing. (Our dining room table and chairs have changed three times.)
-My interview went OK. I felt like I portrayed myself more as a positive-thinking, mad-computer genius/nerd than the full me. We'll see how that works out. I'm in a win-win right now, because I got a good final evaluation and like my schedule for next year. If I get a tech job, GREAT! If I don't, I'm happy where I am (especially now that I'm not under evaluation).
-The yard still needs a ton and a half of work. Carrie chopped down the bamboo forest, and I shoved the remains into four huge contractor bags. The ground is being torn up by the roots. We'll need to have a heavy duty tiller run through the area to fully kill off the infestation. I want to 'shoot' whoever thought bamboo was a good idea (punny!).
-Just got back from the local church and grocery store. Shane zonked on the drive home. He's incredibly routine when it comes to naps.
-I have a class all of next week, and another interview lined up for Thursday. Carrie was really bummed to hear about the class, because she'd be envisioning an entire day off for our anniversary. I let her know about the class back in May, but the timing never really clicked in her head until it became closer. Aunt Megan volunteered to babysit so we could see Brave! I'm going to owe her big!
