Art Exhibit

We took a field trip to the Kehinde Wiley exhibit at the Richmond Art Museum. Kehinde does "street-casting" where he will meet someone on the street, and inject them into a contemporary rendition of a famous portrait.

I'm not a huge art guy, but two things:

1) The canvases were HUGE. I was expecting poster sized, not life-sized. I was highly impressed.

2) Kehinde worked in multiple mediums. Bronze, stained glass, paint....I was highly impressed (again).

If you are an art person, this guy has talent. There are much more eloquent words out there than mine to learn more.

On an non-artistic note, a check engine light sidelined our bus at a truck stop on our way over. We took the kids to McDonald's to await rescue.
