Shane felt hot as I put him to bed. I told Carrie that Shane had a fever when I came back down (to her dismay). Forty minutes later, he woke up crying. Thanks to Carrie's syringe skills we were able to get some Advil in his system and I coaxed him back to sleep after it started to take effect.
We may have to cancel our meeting tomorrow. Janice said that she sometimes has immune compromised kids she deals with and she can't have a sick toddler at a meeting. Hopefully, we can divide and conquer. I'll take Shane to the doctors and Carrie can attend the meeting to get services lined up. We won't know until the morning, because (shock) I doubt anyone will check their email or answer their phone tonight.
In the meantime, we're praying that Shane sleeps and that his body is strengthening with every sickness he gets. Babies are pretty remarkable in that way. You spend so much time worrying about them when they're young and as they get older your start to be more and more amazed at how resilient and well built the little suckers can be.
Father, may Shane sleep soundly even though he's sick, so that we may as well. Amen.
