Life Stays Interesting Here

Carrie decided that bows and arrows go great with horses. The packages were delivered today.

She got a Mirkwood styled recurve in deference to my fondness for LOTR and the fact the price was right.

And yes, from the moment she got home, excitement abounded. "I've been looking forward to this all day!" she said.

Carrie practiced outside until it was dark. Shane and I went in to watch Disney's Robin Hood (a thematic choice!).

Carrie's got more homework and practice to do before she hops up on a horse. She's got to figure out a safe target, too, but don't doubt she hasn't begun researching it already.

  1. I love the author, Terri Blackstock. My favorite books are a 4 book series she wrote where something caused the whole earth to lose electricity and all sorts of power for an extended period of time. People needed to fish and hunt to have meat to eat. So people who could use a bow and arrow, or a gun or fishing pole were better off. The name of the first book in the series in "Last Light" and your library probably carries it. Read that and you'll be so glad that Carrie has a bow and arrow. I think she's doing pretty well with it already.
    Love,
    Mom
