We brought eggs. Carrie and Shane made chicken egg waffles for breakfast!
Grandpa was out golfing and Grandma slept in. When Grandma did wake up, she put on Happy Feet. Shane was mesmerized and she and Carrie watched while they worked (Grandma is clearly where Carrie gets that ability from).
A text update from Grandpa revealed he was nearby. Carrie, with her golf-cart girl course knowledge, grabbed Shane and said, "RUN!"
We managed to make it through the woods all of 20 seconds before Grandpa scooted by.
"We came through the woods! Your house is right over there!" Shane said.
I think Grandpa said he scored a 92 (sand trap trouble).
Pine pollen was everywhere! My brown shoes look like I painted the bottom neon green by the time we returned to the house. The car wore an impressive coat.
It blew off in the wind when we drove to Don Miguel's for lunch, and then a new coat settled in when we returned.
Random group selfie!
Carrie found a bunch of old cameras and camcorders upstairs while playing with Shane. He wanted to make some movies.
Carrie and I watched the toasts from our wedding. There were some old gems on the tapes including baby Sophia. Shane spent the last hour or so of our time glued to the iPad. He had a headache when he was done (probably from not drinking, blinking, or moving that whole time). He bawled that he didn't feel well the whole time we packed and loaded. The tears continued on the road home until he passed out.
We were almost around Richmond when we made a supply stop. Carrie realized she'd forgotten her purse.
We turned around and stayed another night. It didn't make sense to drive, rinse, and repeat. Grandma and Grandpa were happy to see us! We missed hamburger night, though.
