Land Ho!

I've felt a little detached from the whole "let's build a house" thing. Stuff happens while I'm busy and I haven't helped with anything.

Well, Carrie took me down to see the land.

Ten acres was simultaneously smaller than I thought it would be and then larger than I thought when I turned around and couldn't see the car behind the slope of the land. I guess that means I have no real world concept of the scale of an acre.

Carrie didn't want me to include a picture I took that showed her on a cell phone. I thought it illustrated an important point: Excellent cell service! It's 10 acres and it's more rural, but there's a Food Lion right down the road and we're about 20 minutes from Wegmans.

This wasn't Shane's first time to see the land, by the way. Carrie surprised him with an early pick up and then sent me a video of them having a hay fight.

I got the video during wrestling practice and didn't have a chance to look at it until I was heading out.

The New Frontier (Short) - Ask me in person if you want the long story (I wrote a draft and it's still saved)

Carrie scheduled for our buying agent when we moved to Charlottesville, Peg, to come look at our house. The idea was to get tips for what we would need to do when it was time to sell our house.

I was surprised when I received an email about a "blank purchaser agreement."

Long story short, Carrie, Peg, and Grandma all went out to look at some land in Scottsville and fell in love. It is in a good spot by their definition and by my definition. The developer who owns the land is highly motivated to sell....., so we're going forward with looking at testing the soil, zoning, and all of the other possible hiccups.

If the land still looks great after the tests, negotiations, and prayer then we may have found the land we were looking for.
