Basketball - We arrived slightly late. I think the coaches really wanted to try and win this time. Shane only played in two six minute periods instead of three. I don't know if that was an oversight or an attempt to play the better players.
Waiting is difficult for Shane.
Taken later - Which of these players on the sidelines are paying attention? Who is not?
I filmed the first six minutes, but didn't film the second outing. Shane keeps looking over at me and the camera. I enjoy taking pictures, but I think he's too focused on it.
The final score: 42-20. Shane's team hasn't won a game yet, but they've consistently increased their score.
We hung around for snack time and debriefing.
Then we hopped into the car and drove to Orange County for the district wrestling tournament. I missed the beginning rounds, but I like to make my presence known and support the wrestlers.
Shane wanted to say hi to Lidia and Chyna, but didn't see them in the stands. They were mat side and he wanted me to take him down there, but I managed to pawn it off on Subba.
I am strategically lazy. I like to try to get other people involved, so they have memories and connections.
Shane played some Angry Birds and did some bleacher gymnastics to entertain himself while I watched and coached some.
We stayed until after an art lesson and the finals were underway.
We left to pick up a rotisserie chicken for Carrie. She'd spent the day driving and riding and was on the way back herself. She needed the chicken to make chicken noodle soup (both for us and for a friend with the flu).
I did not realize it would be such an adventure to buy a $5 chicken. Wegmans was out. I had all my other groceries and then they told me it would be over half an hour. Shane and I popped over to Food Lion, but Carrie requested Costco sized birds so we re-routed. Only Costco was closed when we got there. It was back to Wegmans and then home for the night!
Shane was a good sport about the driving. I let him pick where we had dinner for the night. He saw some wrestlers wearing Burger King crowns, so we stopped there before Costco. He was still wearing his crown when we met Mommy at home.
