Loki is usually goes out with me whenever I do barn chores. He's got his own little routines while I make meals. There's a spot he likes to poop at (and I have to scoop) and sometimes I'll hear him barking. He really doesn't like any of the horses laying down!
Loki stays near me at first, but he disappears the moment I'm in a stall with a horse. I'm not always sure where he goes. He comes when I call, so I don't worry much about it.
I saw him out grazing with the horses while I scooped Pocket's poop!
Want to guess what he was grazing on?
Loki saw me looking at him and came sprinting over!
Carrie picked a fantastic dog for the family. He's got his odd quirks. He likes the taste of metal and I'm not sure if he's trying to huff snatches of the outdoors or the rollers on the sliding glass door when he sleeps like this.
He chases shadows on the wall...and tries to eat them.
Actually, he's happy to chase anything! The boundless pit of energy has worn out some of his toys.
And anything he can pick up he considers a toy!
Loki shows a lot of intelligence. He obeys verbal commands, learned how to sneeze on cue, recognizes putting on outdoor gear, and recently learned the word "Bedtime" (To which he starts barking and trying to guard Shane's door!).
But he's no genius. We put the whiffle ball in the laundry basket and he nearly choked himself straining to reach it!
We tried to teach him to tip the basket over, but he hadn't a clue! I called a stop to the training, because I thought there could be some unintended consequences of teaching a ball of energy with no common sense how to tip things over!
Shane may not have a human brother, but at least he has a dog one!
