Shane may have inherited my fascination with games. HE's been the one to suggest playing lately.
He even remembered the set up for chess. I showed him once after he begged to play. I didn't think he'd have the focus or patience to play.
He proved me partly wrong. We got creative with the pieces after a little while.
And I think that's great. Maybe Shane will end up a chess whiz my like Uncle Jim one day or maybe he won't. I'm happy that he's happy playing.
The one game I refused to play with Shane is The Game of Life. I used the game for a functional skills type class once (to teach how to make change, etc). He had to be content with spinning the spinner and making a mess.
We don't do much of it, but we do play some video games. Shane doesn't like to lose, so he mainly wants me to play. I encourage him to take chances and have fun with it.
I, also, challenge Carrie and tell her my high scores. Her natural competitive spirit kicks in. She wants to win; I enjoy making trouble.
