Test day! Shane was the only one testing, so he got to lead the class.
He got to be the first throughout the lesson, as well. It helped him to behave slightly better.
I don't remember needing to study for any oral questions when I was in TKD. Shane and I can both recite the 'ten commandments' of TKD.
Shane passed!
He was beyond happy to get a trophy.
After class, he got his 10th ninja sticker and earned a prize, too! We'd left in a rush last week, and it ended up making test day even better.
I haven't had Shane practice any at home this summer. I'll probably need to help him learn his form again with the new belt. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to let him practice breaking a board or two for fun, either. He's a bit old for his class, but I think the instructor is happy to keep him at the same time of day because he's lively from time to time. The current time works best for Carrie and I, so I'm not in a huge hurry to push him into an older group. However a little extra practice if Shane starts telling me he's bored could be just what the doctor orders.
Congratulations to Shane! We are so proud of him. I also don't remember you or your siblings having oral tests in Taekwondo.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Mike and Shane!
Love,
Nana
