"I don't know what I'd do without peanut butter," I said.
"You're more of a cream cheese kind of guy," Carrie replied.
I stopped making my sandwich to look at her. "How so?"
"You have cream cheese every morning."
She was right.
I don't have peanut butter every day, but as long as I have bagels it's almost a guarantee I will have cream cheese.
This was a revelation. It wasn't an identity crisis like when I changed to a crunchy peanut butter guy over creamy, but it made me pause.
I need to profess my love for cream cheese more.
Peanut butter still holds a special place in my heart even if I don't have it every day, because I like it in a variety of foods (including desserts!). But I can't deny cream cheese's consistency any more. I have used it to make salmon and cream cheese crackers as an easy dinner.
I know exactly what I need to do to give this post a happy ending. I need to convince Carrie to bake some sort of dessert involving cream cheese.
