I Love a Good Win-Win

This is Manga.

Her name is Arabic for....I don't remember. It's not "Japanese comic book" or mango.

Manga is Daniel's dog. We're taking care of her while Daniel's family is out and about.

It's become a big Win-Win for us. Daniel's family gets dog care. Sick-boy Shane gets an easy outing.

And Manga is thrilled to get company. She's a very sweet, older golden.

It's only fitting that Shane plays some at Daniel's house while he's sick, because he probably got the germs from Daniel in the first place!

The boys played multiple times during the week and Daniel was sick last weekend.

They make for a cute pair.

Jessica, Daniel's mom, joked that the boys have become "sibling-friends." They're friends, but they do their darndest to push each other's buttons half the time. When we visited on Friday, Shane was screaming and crying, because Daniel was laughing and purposely antagonizing him....

...by singing "Happy Birthday."

That's right. My son was bullied by being sung to.

All the adults laughed over that one. It's not nice that Daniel was trying to push Shane's buttons, but Shane gets over-dramatic and "Happy Birthday?" Really?

It'll be a funny story when they're older.

Shane's not innocent either. He likes to try and take extra long turns in the car or take the best toys and give Daniel ones that neither boy wants!

It's how kids learn. They may rile each other up, but if you separate them they immediately want to play together again. Usually one of the boys throws a mini-fit when the other leaves.

It's nice having friends right across the street!

  1. We loved looking at all the pictures. Thank you so much for writing such a great blog for all of us to enjoy, Mike. Manga is a beautiful dog. What a win-win to take care of her and play at their house! I'm glad that Shane has a best friend right across the street! You are all greatly blessed!
