Shane has been on my case to care a pumpkin. I haven't carved anything in probably two decades.
However, I knew Dylan's mom, Krista, was an art teacher.
One message later we all fell into a Fall party.
It was an informal, rake-your-own-leaves affair!
The weather couldn't have been any more beautiful.
John, Dylan's dad/Carrie's coworker, grilled.
We spent less time on the pumpkins than playing. I cut and scooped out ours, but got no further.
Krista's Darth Vader turned into a ghost as she recalled how to work with the medium. Her Yoda was a big success, though!
When they didn't self-entertain.
Krista plugged in Star Wars at the end of the night.
Not that the boys stayed focused enough to watch it!
We headed out a little after 7:00 PM. Dylan and his brother, Eli, needed to calm down and start their bed time routines (it takes longer with two). It was a great night of food, fun, and Carrie got to vent a little bit about some recent work challenges. The pumpkins are prepped, so Shane and I will carve them in the week to come. He won't let us forget.
What a fun time you had with your friends! If you put vaseline on the cuts on your pumpkin, it will slow down the molding so your pumpkin might last until Halloween.
