First Full Day on the Market

A sign appeared in our yard early this morning.

Grandma and Gay appeared later to check out the house and the future home site. They went out for lunch in Scottsville while Shane played lots of Mega Man X.

Shane and I were home a second day due to the school threat. They caught the 17-year old who made the threat, but it was after they'd already cancelled. He was not a city school student and lived in the county. Since he's a juvenile, we may not hear much more other than he identifies as Portuguese.

Normally, I like getting a day off school, but report cards are due, work needs to be done, and threats aren't as fun as snow.

Sam was out of school, too, and his mom reached out about a play-date. I don't know who was more thrilled: Shane, Sam or me.

We met up at the park. It was sunny, but there were some strong 25 mph winds that cut through my jacket.

Shane chose not to wear one. I asked when he left the house and he shrugged it off. "It's on you if you're cold," I replied.

Maybe that's why he took my minion hat. He and Sam disappeared into Sam's family car to look at Pokemon cards for a while before they were kicked out into the gale force winds.

Sam's mom was on Toby detail for much of the time, but we were able to talk some. I read my book and mainly watched the older boys. They played well and collected a bunch of sticks and ranged all over. I had to kick them out of the public bathroom when they didn't come out because Shane wanted to make whirlpools in the sink!

Don't look at this picture too long, Carrie. Shane likes to scale anything. Especially, anything that will get a reaction. Sam's not a climber, so he was calling for Shane to come down.

It was cold and looked like a storm, so we retreated as a group to Sam's house. We stayed until dinner time and left to meet Carrie at Wegman's.

Power was out. The goal was to pass some time, charge some batteries, and eat some food. We didn't expect to find Wegman's out of power, dark, and running on it's backup generator!

Carrie was fretting that someone would try to visit the house while we were powerless, but no one did. It was oddly quiet. We ended up going to Costco and getting dinner and groceries before returning home for the night. Thankfully, the power was back on!
