First Soccer Practice

I can describe Shane's spring soccer team in one word: Small.

Four kids showed up for practice! It's an early practice, but the location and company are great.

I was ready to offer to help, but with four kids I figured the coach would be fine.

I didn't realize there was such a large field behind the school we were at. I like having a reason to explore areas and having a kid is great for that.

After practice, Shane played on the playground with Sam and Toby for a while. The first game is this Saturday (yikes!). We'll have to miss it. I hope that more kids show up, or this team will be half kids from whoever we play against each week!

I traded email with Coach M (Hayden and Harrison's dad) before the season. I thought about switching Shane to his team. He's a good guy, a good coach, and Shane likes Hayden. However, Shane's team is mainly Jackson-Via kids whom I recognized (including Sam), and the second best drive of any practice field we've had.

I let Shane make the choice and we're going to stick with it.
