I pocket-dialed Carrie today.
Normally, I put my phone on silent and leave it at my desk. It was in my pocket today and dialed home during SEL.
Of course, Carrie picked up.
She listened in as I started a mini-lesson about a photoshop artist purposely mixed up requests (The lesson being, "Communication/Wording is important). She was trying to joke and comment as I led into the next part of the lesson with This Person Does Not Exist (The lesson being, "Don't believe everything you see online automatically).
I never heard any of Carrie's comments. Would you have hung up when you realized the other person didn't hear you and was unaware?
Carrie didn't! She put the phone on speaker and got to work as she listened in.
I'd like to think she learned a little about rhombi & squares. She got to listen in to as one of my instigators tried to start a conversation on, "Would you trust me to watch your kid?"
Carrie listened to over forty minutes of me at work! I went to my computer to check if any work communiques had come through and saw Carrie had sent me several texts on gmail laughing and quoting me!
At that point, I pulled out my phone and put her on speaker phone. She got to say, "Hello," to the class!
Funny moment in a busy day. The kids were a little crazy after I hung up due to some upcoming court drama and the fact it was snowing. The snow stuck to the grass, but not the roads. We were down a bunch of staff (nearly 50%), and it was a day where it was a victory just making in through.
The snow was still coming down as I picked up Shane.
It was very pretty, but I'm ready for warmer weather. We got our days off and I don't think anything else is going to stick at this point.
