There's been a lot going on.
Some work has been done by contractors. Like the light fixtures being moved and GFI switches in the bathroom.
Some of it has been done by Carrie like the blinds.
I got to use the hacksaw when Carrie's arm were sore, but any house construction tasks were 98% her.
One day, the deck got pressure washed and fixed up.
Carrie taped off the area and declared no one was allowed to step on the porch for the next three days as it dried. We had to use the side porch to come and go (but not for three days!).
We set a budget on what to fix and the bathrooms were the top of Carrie's list. You can't see the hair dye stains all over the counter, but trust me when I say they were bad enough.
I wouldn't have agreed to the repairs otherwise. Carrie's got a better eye for aesthetics and staging than I ever will. My role is support and reigning in enthusiasm.
Carrie got quotes from people who restored counters, for standard counters, and custom counters. The restoration work was surprisingly high priced, and we went with new instead. The cabinetry turned out to be three separate modules made to look like one and nothing standardized would fit, so Carrie went scrap/deal hunting.
The floor is a mat that looks like tile. It's softer and a little strange, but looks gerat.
Contractors did the electrical work, demo, flooring, and counter + sink installation.
Carrie hooked up the plumbing to the sinks, cleaned, painted, put on a new toilet seat, and found all the accent pieces.
Shane's bathroom got a similar treatment. Here's an in progress picture:
And here's a final:
Carrie picked up and cleared the counter-tops in the kitchen so that the installers could clean the granite.
The work isn't done. We've moved a lot and staged a lot, but it feels like there's always something more to do.
Nova is aware and looking to make her own move, but hasn't had any luck yet.
Pray for us, pray for her, and pray for whoever buys our home!
