Meeting the all the ponies (Summer)

We're always excited about visitors here! The humans were cleaning (especially Carrie), and the cats enjoyed the screen doors as we aired out.

I took the dogs to the vet to allow Carrie to continue working unabated. Kila was getting a health screening and Loki was getting checked for hip dysplasia (two checkmarks towards being reputable breeders).

Loki was excited by all the new smells while Kila was terrified and cowered between my feet.

The dogs were still gone when we got a horde of visitors! Grandma and Grandpa brought Gay and one of their other travel friends to meet Boomer.

Grandma was a fan! I just missed a great reaction.

Grandpa tried to get some of his own pictures, but Shane was busy looking at me (I swear he's either oblivious or tracking my every move!).

I pointed Shane towards Grandpa and Gramps got his pics in.

Shane loved hamming it up and standing in the middle of all the horses while the adults looked on!

Grandma thought Beau was the cutest thing, but she was not impressed with the height of the weed behind her.

Spoiler alert: I cleared out during chores the next morning.

When the other guests left, the family came inside to rest and converse in the air conditioning. Earlier when they first arrived, Grandpa came in through the garage to use the bathroom. Carrie nearly had a panic attack! We typically don't clean that laundry room and it has history.

Still, it was a nice visit. You can see from the laptops, the travel agency got to work while Shane played on the computer. This might be the day Grandpa and I started watching the new Top Gun? Or maybe that was last time? I didn't take a picture of the TV to help me remember (because who takes pictures of tv screens?).

Eventually, the visit ended. Work was done. Socialization was had.

And Shane got out the bunnies. So often, I forget they exist. I was half worried there would be some rabbit on rabbit violence, but it was uneventful.

It's been a good summer so far. We've managed to have something to do most of the time to gives days meaning without being stupid busy. The bigger events will be happening soon enough.
