Shane and Cole had a ton of fun up north. They got to go to thrift stores, Five Guys, Chuck E Cheese's and go swimming together. Nana and Pop know how to grandparent.
Jama showed Shane how to open and eat peanuts at Five Guys. That's at least educational.
Shane got to show off Matt and Renee's laundry chute, too.
The party van took Jama to church and Dairy Queen to kick off Sunday.
PS - Those are new used shoes Shane is wearing. I packed him a full bag, but he jumped in the van Thursday without shoes. Somehow, no one noticed. The shoes only cost Nana $4 and a couple of used toys for the boys (including another garbage truck!).
The South Carolina crew arrived at our house around 2:45 PM. Neither boy napped on the two-hour drive. They were wired.
Shane was despondent when everyone left. It took a lollipop and 3-2-1 Penguins to distract him. Carrie egged Shane into running laps through the kitchen later. You would never have known he was exhausted until he passed out in the Beetle.
It's only a 15 minute drive to the barn. Carrie let out the dogs to help wake Shane up.
We tried to let Shane hop on Pixel, too. She was too antsy, though. She shied away whenever I started to lift Shane up. There will be other times.
The trip north was a nice break for Shane and for Carrie and I, but I'm glad he's back.
