Shane was excited. "I LOVE bagel bites!"
Raheem asked what they were.
"They're little pizzas on a bagel," I said. Raheem looked unsure. "Well, there's cheese and pizza sauce on a mini-bagel. It's a little piece of bread."
"OH! A bagel is bread?" Then Raheem was all about the bagel bites.

Raheem seems to have a very limited diet. The only things he's been a fan of here are chicken nuggets, peanut butter crackers, juice, and water.
I can't say anything, because I was a famously picky eater. The Jeffers made me try oatmeal for the first time in seventh grade (brown-sugar with maple!). They also introduced me to Pop Tarts. Then there was the time I learned how to drink out of a bottle when I lost in a chugging competition to Bill....
So I'm not judging. I wasn't much different. My palate has grown since. My goal is to stretch Raheem's a little. Bagel bites aren't a huge jump, but anything new is a start.
I got Nina to eat pizza for dinner last night. At first she turned her nose up at it, said she doesn't eat unhealthy food like that, and doesn't usually let her husband either, but then it came, and she was too tempted by the good smell. :)
ReplyDeleteLol, I remember trying soup for the first time when we made it in Home Ec in middle school (egg drop soup)! And then we had it for the second time at Stickley's house (tomato soup in 10th grade?). Then, we discovered there's a whole aisle of delicious soups when we grocery shopped in college!
ReplyDeleteWe were all pretty limited eaters weren't we? Ha!
