Our road trip began Friday morning! We even started towards our destination after sleeping in, packing, and then going to pick up Carrie's purse from her work. Shane got the grand tour (and a free pillow).
Carrie was tickled purple to drive.
We added a couple of hours to our trip to drive east of Charlotte for an equine reunion.
Over five years had passed.
Carrie smiled and Carrie cried.
Minus some traffic through Gaffney and a woman on her phone almost rear-ending us, the rest of the trip was uneventful. We arrived at Nana and Pop's near 7 PM to meet the merry horde.
Shane opened belated birthday presents with Cole.
Carrie got the grand tour and inspected Nana's mattress.
It was a full house: Nana, Pop, Indy, Jama, Matt, Renee, Stu, Kathleen, Cole, Evelyn, Dillion, Shania, Shane, Carrie, and myself. I love big family gatherings.
The boys were hyper bonkers wild thrilled to see each other, too.
