Shane, Carrie, and I drove to Grandma and Grandpa's neck of the woods for Memorial Day Weekend.
Our first stop: A roping competition
.
The demographics were very different from the type of horse shows Carrie normally frequented.
Roping involves a pair of cowboys running down and lassoing a young bull while a clock runs.
It kept Shane's busy for a little bit. The explosively farting goats caught his attention next.
I still don't want goats.
Carrie introduced Shane to a "lonely" horse next.
The horse's name is Kiowa and Carrie has been assessing whether or not she wants to add Kiowa to the family...but more on that tomorrow.
The roping and the horses held Carrie's interest more than anyone's, but Shane had fun. It was an experience.
Shane had fun meeting animals and exploring.
Carrie gave him her phone at the end when he started to show hyper-sign. Acting wild is usually not appreciated at horse events (especially by Carrie).
Grandma and Grandpa's was only 10-15 minutes down the road. We jogged over there to end our night. Vacations are much cheaper with a free place to stay!
What a fun, adventurous life you guys are living! Maybe one day, you'll have a little farm.
