Sunday with Shane

Mommy went to test ride horses with Margaret around Winchester, so it was a boys day. We played frisbee with Henry and Will until we went to church. Shane didn't want to stop building with blocks when it was time to go.

Maybe that's why he started on the pyramid puzzles when we did get home (but no Legos!).

We had a pretty quiet afternoon. We played some, we cleaned some. I looked up some old cartoons from when I was a kid, too.

Dylan and Eli came by at 4:00 PM for some real weekend partying.

We stayed outside for the first half an hour. There were chickens...

...hot wheels....

...and lots of running around throwing discs with Henry.

It was neat, because the older boys formed a pair and then Eli and Henry a pair (mostly).

We went inside after that.

"What do you think it's going to be like when we don't have to keep an eye on them and have spare time? Will we even know what to do with ourselves?" I asked John.

He pondered and then both pairs of kids managed to melt down simultaneously.

One moment, peace and quiet. The next, pandemonium. Eli and Henry were fighting over a crane. Shane and Dylan were fighting because Shane picked up a Lego Dylan wanted when Dylan put it down to take the tablet from Shane. I'm surprised Nova didn't call 911.

However, it resolved and the kids went back to playing. The crane was on the couch and there was a timer on a phone for how long each tablet turn would last for Shane and Dylan.

The rest of the night went smoothly! Dylan and Eli hung around for three hours. They had chicken nuggets for dinner and popcorn for a snack.

By the time Carrie got home, the house was cleaned up and Shane was tuckered out. She read him a bedtime story and we called it a night.
