The barn continues to evolve.
Carrie had Jason and his buddy install gable vents to help with the barn's climate.
The added some supports as necessary to the framework to prevent structural problems, too.
I thought they were taking a long time for a simple project, but there was more going on than I realized. Carrie requested a tack closet. I knew that was on her wishlist, but I didn't know it was going up when it did!
It does fill a need. With more boarders the tack room was getting full. Carrie pulled her gear out to keep it separate and organized while making the tack room more spacious.
I guess we've kept Jason and his friend from worrying about their family finances as much through 'quarantine.'
We still need to install a bar at the base of the wash stall to keep the water from spilling out. It should be an easier fix: Set bar, anchor, caulk, call it a day.
The prices have been right, but I'm really hoping these improvements stop at some point.
Carrie did her own handy project. She built a dispenser for the supplement cups.
Did I ever mention the supplement cups?
In an attempt to streamline feeding, Carrie pre-makes supplement cups for each horse according to their needs/medicines. She probably makes them all once a week and then we simply dump the cup in the morning feed. There's no more concocting recipes from the board like a junior chemist.
It's a lot less work for me, so I've been very happy with the new system!
Carrie also cut off the excess on the bolts holding the gates up. She sanded down where she cut to make it smooth and prevent a future freak accident.
