Riding Day (The Backlog!)

Sunday started early for Carrie. She hired a braider to do Lilly's hair, so that she wouldn't have to.

Here's what Carrie and Lilly looked like when they got home after being out all morning.

It's almost time for me to right up a post on Carrie's fox-hunting exploits.

Shane and I went to church and then to Costco for lunch. We were trying to kill a little time.

We were waiting for Dylan's dad to get home, so we could visit! He was dropping Eli off at a party or something

Dylan recently discovered bike riding. It's ironic, because John had been trying to teach Eli!

Dylan let Shane have a turn and the two raced off to explore the neighborhood.

They went towards a cul-de-sac, so John and I watched them disappear into the distance.

John figured the neighborhood was just the right size for the boys. It was big enough to be exciting now, but would quickly seem too small as they got older.

The boys asked to ride to the dragon sign. John okayed it and they sped off ahead of us.

We eventually caught up. The boys took turns riding down a long hill.

We spent the whole visit outside (Hooray!). It was only a short visit, because John had to pick Eli back up.

I didn't get to ride anywhere, but I did a chunk of driving. It would have been too long a drive for too short a time if we hadn't been in the area for church already.

I still probably would've done it, though. Shane and Dylan don't share any academic classes, but knowing you have a friend at school who knows you outside of school is good for both of them.
