It's not local community, but Matt, Pat, John, and I have started a game-night. Patrick told us about his old exploits playing D&D online.
When he got nostalgic, it got the rest of us nostalgic for our old game nights. I'd never done anything online before, so Patrick GM'd for a while. Now, it's my turn.
We switched to GURPs, because that's Matt, John, and I's favorite system to goof around in.
Online is nowhere near as fun as sitting around, joking with your friends in person, but it makes it an option. We usually play for a couple of hours which is how long (one way) it'd take me to drive to Northern Virginia to host a game at Matt's.
