It was the moment we'd all been waiting for....the family road trip! We decided to stretch the truck's legs. Shane had books, Minion Run on the kindle, and we played the CDs for Harry Potter book 2.
It was a good thing we packed entertainment, because I-85 was shut down. The trip took over an extra hour (We stopped for lunch).
Shane was too excited to care. "Are we any closer to Nana's?"
The first thing he did when we got there was to run around and wave his arms wildly. Then he built a fort.
Cole showed up next!
He brought his family with him, of course.
Evelyn struck off on her own initially, but proceeded to follow the boys after a bit.
Everyone was happy to see everyone else.
Carrie had to duck out for some work, but the kids played unabated. I went back and forth talking and checking on her.
For dinner, Carrie and I went out for a quiet date night while the party continued. There was a "castle cellar pub" we found in Simpsonville.
Shane was still up when we got home. He was watching one last episode before brushing his teeth and turning in at 9:30 PM. He didn't even notice Carrie and I had stepped out.
