Sunday marked the start of Camp Nana-Pop for Shane. He'll be there for several weeks. They signed himup for VBS at their church and have plenty of plans for fun.
Shane and I left earlier in the morning than originally planned. I was worried about 4th of July weekend traffic, but it never emerged. The Volvo's AC worked better and for longer because we left before things heated up. I wish I could say I planned that, but it was a fortunate accident.
I introduced Shane to Bojangles on the way down. He favored skipping lunch to get to Nana and Pop's sooner, but he yielded.
Pop and Indy came outside to welcome us to their home!
Nana and Dot waited inside (Dot avoided the camera).
Indy and Shane were the same level of bonkers-excited.
We arrived early enough for dinner and to hang out some before Nana, Pop, and Shane had to leave. VBS was from 6-8:30 PM Sunday-Thursday. It's an odd time slot in my mind, but it seems to work for their church. Nana and Pop were teaching 4 year olds this year (I think). Shane would be in his own class and try to learn more about Jesus and make some friends.
Dot and I stayed home. We talked for a little bit over her dinner and then I started on the chore list Nana had left me. I needed to hook up the Switch to the TV, set up a Netflix trial account, and throw a purple shirt for Shane in the wash.
Shane's going to be in good hands. My parents went five-for-five raising their kids. Grandkids are easier, because you're allowed to spoil them and then return them! I bet everyone in the house has a grand time.
We are enjoying Shane being here. Thanks for sharing him!
