Beach 2017 - Day 4

The kids slept in today! All of the excitement wore them out enough to sleep.....until 6:45 AM.

It was an improvement.

Some of the board games I brought for the kids were taken out for the first time. I was beginning to think I'd brought them in vain!

Everyone was up a little after 7:00 AM.

No one was spoiled with a quiet 3rd floor like last year. It was the full kid experience all the time and everywhere.

Which is hilarious if you don't get grossed out easily.

Kids have their own way of doing everything. Shane and Cole helped deflate the air beds.

Nana brought plenty of toys to keep them busy, too. They 'cooked' aliens.

It was the first time in years all 5 siblings have been together, so Nana wanted pictures. She took the first shot,...

...and then she jumped in with Indy.

Another point for Stu towards MVP for taking pictures (and he was probably glad to be out of them).

Patrick and Shelby headed out and everyone geared up for the beach.

Nana and Pop went today! It was the only day I saw them in the sand. Otherwise, they stayed out of the sun. They saved Megan and I from sun by walking B and Shane down.

It let Shane stay out for longer than normal and allowed my skin to recover some. Shane was out in the waves with Matt when I arrived. Matt had the timing down of when to throw Shane into a wave for maximum body surfing.

Nana and Pop said their good-byes shortly after Megan and I arrived. Nana's had a few spots removed by the dermatologist before the trip, so they were being extra careful.

Sand play and beach fun occurred as it had before.

I don't know if it was today, but at some point the kids saw some group of beach goers dig a whole so deep they hit water. That became a goal.

I'm not sure Tenley ever touched sand. She'd have eaten it anyway.

There was always someone willing to hold her at the beach, house, or wherever.

Twister came out again after nap time.

Not that rules were followed. It was a fun excuse to roll around on Pop.

Shane's burn was already turning a little into a tan.

Matt and Renee suggested miniature golf to end the night.

We made our own rules.

Renee kicked everyone's butt who tracked their scores.

Thank God, it was shaded.

Cole, Evelyn, and Tenley sat this one out. I think this was the night we started to hand out the electronics more and more.

It was necessary. The kids needed some down time moments and they were hyper wild without the electronics. Besides, it's the beach. My sibs and I have plenty of fun memories playing video games and lounging around in between beach runs.
