Basketball Season 2017 Begins!

Carrie took Shane to his first basketball practice. She texted me to let me know it started off rough. Shane was gallivanting around without listening to directions.

His act was better when I got there. It's all brand new to him, so I expected a learning curve.

I expected him to spin, twirl, and act like a ninja in place, too. I'd prefer if he didn't, but as long as he stayed where he was supposed to, no one got hit, and the coaches didn't command otherwise, oh well. Carrie has a a harder time watching him spaz out.

The kids did some drills and then sat down for a talk after I arrived (I was at wrestling for the beginning). I was surprised that they directly started to talk about Bible verses and memorizing scripture each week. It's fine by me!

Funny story: There's a Shamus and another Shane on the team. Carrie said it was tough trying to yell for Shane to pay attention and have two other kids stop whatever they were doing!

The kids did some shooting drills to finish the day. I think the coaches were over-ambitious having the kids attempt from the free throw line.

One kid managed to hit the rim. The others did their best to hurl the ball, but fell short. There's a lot to learn!
