Shane and I showed up to the belt ceremony Saturday night. Shane complained and didn't want to go.
On one hand, I didn't blame him. He'd have to sit (mostly) still for an hour.
On the other, I hoped sitting still would help tire him out for the rest of the night. Plus, Shane likes attention. I figured he would enjoy being applauded.
Shane did a fairly good job.
Most of the time.
He got his chance to shine eventually.
Shane is officially a yellow-stripe belt now!
Though Shane would have loved to have earned a trophy. A little girl sitting next to him earned one and his jaw dropped. He asked her all about it.
And wouldn't you know it? After complaining about going, Shane was upset when it was time to leave. I told him that if he had wanted to come, I could see staying for the after party. As is, I had to drag him and we left Mommy behind.
I posted this Sunday. Sunday was a big, do-nothing day. There was church, there was TV, and Carrie and Shane napped. I caught up on a weeks worth of blogging.
