Benadryl, an incorrect clock, a locked door, and a sleeping house would not have kept Shane asleep past 7 AM. We didn't even try.
Shane woke Nana and they started the day off with some TV. Pop's been recording Blaze and Paw Patrol for him.
Everyone else got to sleep in a little later.....7:30 AM. That's not great, but it's an improvement for Carrie and I.
We set the cats up in Dilion's old room. He'd moved out in November.
The cats weren't sure how traumatized they were.
The litter box was stored in the stand for a private bathroom.
Neither cat showed much inclination to brave the dog and/or an overstimulated Shane.
They tipped towed up to the barrier and watched.
Indy watched back.
It was a cold war. The staredowns were the highlight. Whenever a cat turned or startled, Indy's chase instinct kicked in.
Carrie tried to encourage some exploration whenever Indy was locked up, but the cats retreated to their sanctuary not long after.
Shane went with Nana to her gym in the morning. He played in the kid's area and then swam with all of his new friends for hours.
They probably stopped at a hundred pokestops for Pokemon Go on the way to and from the gym, too. Shane used up Nana's battery and had Carrie worried when she couldn't contact either of them for hours on end. Nana and Shane were only supposed to be out for the morning, but they even went out to Subway for lunch.
Pop, Jama, Carrie, and I ended up going out to lunch ourselves. I almost ordered gator meat (Hello, SC). I won't say anything more about the restaurant, because Carrie ended up sick the rest of the night.
Shane was in the tub enjoying the jacuzzi jets when we got home. "I have to do these now, because Cole hates them. But I love them!" Shane said.
We spent the rest of the night around the house. Shane played, Carrie recuperated, and I raided the pantry for all the snacks we don't have at home.
It's good to be on vacation with family.
