There are different types of leadership that show up in a classroom. A small activity I planned to allow a short time for took a life of it's own and I let it roll. I asked the kids to pick make a better logo/icon for our Freshman Seminar class. I told them not to make anything school inappropriate or too silly, because I'd veto it. Other than that, go wild. I'd let them vote on what they wanted later.
Two girls finished up in 15 mintues and four others mostly opted out...., but the other kids went into overdrive. Two of the kids on the fringe hopped on the bandwagon as they saw everyone else having fun and the whole activity blew past my time expectations.
Which was great.
Some of the logos were more normal:
The winner was a bit more out there.
