I've been to a lot of barns during my marriage. This trip was unique.
I was the one who ended up in the saddle.
Carrie arranged for me to have riding lessons.
I was hoping to learn to ride for free. We have horses. Carrie knows how to ride, but alas! None of our horses are beginner friendly.
I got a lesson from Carrie I could hear her getting tense and frustrated. She wasn't frustrated with me as much about herself. "I'm not good with beginner," she said. "I don't know what to say."
So she outsourced. Carrie was on the phone by the time I got to the house.
Going elsewhere wasn't my first choice, but it would be nice to know (seeing as we have horses). One of my summer goals was to learn and exercise. This seemed to fit the bill. I can sit in a saddle and survive a trail walk already, but I don't have a clue about posting through a trot.
The instructor thought I had good posture. Carrie thought I looked tense, but my butt looked good.
I asked Carrie to take pictures/video. I was surprised when there was a grand total of 7 stills. "I normally don't take pictures," Carrie said. "That's good for me!"
I was hoping I'd be a good sport and good example for Shane. However, he didn't spend much time observing. He had other things on his mind!
I might be taking weekly lessons for the summer. Here's to hoping I learn enough I can level up to the point I can ride at home instead of going out!
