Summer's over. Work begins. Next Tuesday the kids show up. Lots of meetings, training, and time-killing in between.
I dropped off Shane at TKD before I went in. There weren't a lot of other kids there yet.
However, there were a ton of kids when I arrived for pick up. The older kids were voting between freeze tag and dodgeball. Shane was in the back where the TV was (of course). Apparently, he watched a lot of Tom and Jerry today. "I liked the one where the dog hit the cat with the racket and his head came out the other side!" Shane said. They had to herd him out, because he didn't want to stop watching.
When I asked what his least favorite part was, it was the Taekwondo. "It took a long time and I wanted to see more TV!"
I'd hoped the TKD would have been more the draw. Still, I need the childcare.
At least it wasn't all TV. He said they went to a park to eat lunch and play outside, too. There's a bowling/putt-putt day on the schedule.
I was pretty tired with my hours out of whack (up late/early alarm). I plopped down on the recliner. Shane took off his uniform shirt and then jumped on me to show me a game. I took a short nap while he played and probably never noticed anything was different.
And so the school year kicks off. We all watched lightning later as a storm passed over. Mommy turned off all the lights.
Good times.
