However, as often happens in life, when one door shuts another opens. When we arrived home Henry saw us. He ran over and we had a lot of fun outside. If we had not tried to go to the library, we wouldn't have been outside when Mikayla and Henry were.
The boys checked out the chickens and moped until Mikayla had to swap out with Will (Sam needed her).
..., bike pumps,...
...and water guns.
The boys don't even have to play together the whole time. They're both happier to know other people are out.
It's the same for the adults. I last about an hour outside when no one's around. Other kids give Shane someone to play with and I'm loathe to cut quality play short. Other adults give me someone to talk to. An experience shared is richer than one hoarded and alone.
