Six out of six chickens are still clucking around. They've done a good job of pecking at weeds and ground wasps. Both populations have thinned.
Carrie upgraded their feed and water bowls the other day.
She had Shane pass through some bamboo sticks for climbing on.
I had a couple drying out for fun. Now they're chicken toys.
This should be the final layout until we make some nesting boxes. I'm sad we'll have to wait until around December for the eggs to start, but the chicks provide some entertainment for now.
Carrie even bought meal worm treats.
Not that she really wants Shane chasing around chickens and stepping in chicken poop!
When the wind shifts I can smell that the chicks are around, but there hasn't been a large change in our lives otherwise. Carrie checks the food and water levels in the morning, and Shane and I check that there are still six off and on throughout the day.
Now if only they were already laying eggs....
I'm so fascinated by your chickens that I'm listening to youtube videos and reading info online about chickens. Do your chickens get any sunlight? Do they get to run around outside any?
