Tuesday was the first high school scrimmage. I was going to hold a middle school practice, but no one came! It was the day before Thanksgiving break, so that must have factored in, but it was still disappointing.
I asked Carrie if she could pick up Shane and made my way over to the high school event instead.

It was a good night. The kids did better than I expected! A lot of them are in the stage where they need to run moves badly more, so that they can start to accept and process more steps of how to do the moves right. We matched up well enough in most of the matches, though.
Carrie sent me multiple, "I miss you!" texts mostly as a joke (There was a funny Zap Brannigan gif!). She'd asked about going as a family to a movie after she picked up Shane, but I was on the job.
I stayed long enough to see just about everybody wrestle at least once and then slid out. The HS coach and the new assistant coach had the chairs on the mat and I don't think it helps to have too many voices all screaming for a kid to do different things.
