Happy Birthday, Pop!

Nana and Pop went on a birthday tour! Happy Birthday, Pop!

The tourists were in NOVA checking on family and spent their Saturday driving. First out to Patrick's in Staunton and then to Brazo's Tacos in Cville to see us!

Shane and I drove up and figured out the COVID ordering process. We had to order on my phone and then Brazo's texted when the order was ready. I started the process before they arrived.

Wisely, so because Shane had his eyes on Nana's phone.

"Look! His eyes track it!" Nana said as she waved that which Shane desired.

He could only take the taunting so long before he pounced!

Nana and Pop have a long history of playing Pokemon Go with Shane. He didn't seem to remember Brazo's, but he's driven through there many times with them hunting for Pokestops.

We spent two hours in Nana and Pop's car eating, talking, and playing.

Shane set the rear AC to 58 F. Nana thought that was unreasonable. She waited until I got out of the car to strike. I hopped back in with the food and noticed a new set of numbers saying 68 F. Pretty slick, but the ADHD caught it!

Not that Shane noticed. He ate as quick as he could, so that he could hop back on his Pokediction. Nana and Pop were nice enough to drive us around the parking lot, so that he could hit a Pokestop or two for old time's sake.

The drove back north to NOVA. They have a hotel room where they're spending the weekend to do Jama's medicine and visit people.

With travel time, we were out of the house for a little under three hours. It was the highlight of the day. I'm so glad they drove through!

It was Pop's birthday, but in typical grandparent fashion they brought some goodies for Shane. His favorite was a slingshot with helicopter ammunition. It twirled and lit up as it fell.

"Hey! Look at me!" Shane yelled. Alex was already backing out, but Ellie and Carrie watched him fire a few times.

Shane and I went out just before bedtime, but....

The toy worked. The camera notsomuch. Turns out you need light.
