Carrie went to work and Shane and I went to playing. We dropped by Play-it-Again sports to return the first bike we tried (no training wheels) and grab a pump.
Or at least, that's why I went. Shane wanted to try on helmets and hit tennis balls with ping pong paddles.
We bumped into my newly assigned Special Education Mentor and his family while we were there. Shane and his son went to work while we chatted.
Everyone says that happens a lot in Cville. It's happened to me at least twice with the handful of teachers I know.
Afterwards, Shane and I went to check out the new library on the north side of town. It's called Northside (fancy that).
Beautiful space.
They didn't have any new Hank the Cowdogs, though. Shane picked out a CD with some Disney songs.
Then he found the computer (of course). He couldn't figure out how to get out of Spanish mode (me rei!).
No, I didn't help. I'd rather get books at a library. I let him try as long as he wanted and chalked it up as early immersion.
We spent the waning daylight hours of both Friday and Saturday with Raheem. The park down the way gets pretty busy when the temperature drops below ninety.
Shane keeps me busy. I walked over 7.5 miles Friday and Saturday according to my phone's pedometer (13k+ steps). It's easier to manage him when he's doing something than to contain him when he's doing nothing.
This will be the last post tagged as summer. The kids are back in class Wednesday. If I survive, I guess we'll be official Cville locals.
