I have been checking the mail daily for a month. Carrie saw me looking at a game on kickstarter and said, "That looks interesting."
I backed it immediately.
The company running the kickstarter was a small family affair and the surge of interest this kickstarter gathered overwhelmed them a little. They started to ship the game a month ago, but at 200 games shipped a day, five days a week, it still took a while for 5,000 games to get out there.
I've known that the game could show up any day for weeks now. Every time I saw the mail truck I skipped outside to see if it was my lucky day. The anticipation was killing me, but amusing Carrie.
Today, the game arrived.
It's small. The company specializes in 'wallet games.' The idea is to make the most game in as small a package as possible.
It's a fun little puzzle. Honestly, it could make a great phone app. I lost my first several games and won my first during lunch at school the next day.
I showed the game to one of my students who's a closet nerd.
I'm happy with the purchase. It's not perfect, but it's a great bang for the buck and it fits easily alongside my real wallet.
UPDATE: Carrie and Shane played with the cards to make the longest single road possible. I'm already happy with the game, but I'm happier now that my family got at least 10 minutes of play time out of it, as well!
That's so cool! That game is going to be fun for no telling how many people and you bought it before it became popular. Nice leap of faith trying something new.
