I like mornings to be electronics free.
One, I think what you spend your morning on signals your priorities. Electronics are not a priority.
Two, I don't want Shane to wake up extra early for the hope of electronics. He thinks electronics are a priority.
I feel like mornings are smoother when they are electronics free. Shane is anesthetized to the world when he has electronics. He will either hold it or forget he needs to use the bathroom. This is not a big deal on weekends. On a weekday, I don't want to turn off the TV, say "Let's go," and then hear there's an emergency as seatbelts are being buckled.
Shane's done a better job of reading in the morning, lately. Really, that's what I've wanted all along. Eat your food, get ready, and find some way to entertain yourself. Preferably with a book.
I'm a much slower riser than Shane, so I appreciate it when it works out!
