We Don't Need No Garbage Truck....

It's been over a month in the new house and we have no garbage service. There was a dumpster from construction we threw as much as we could into, but it's gone now!

Carrie did some research and it would cost about $35/mo for a weekly trash pickup (no recycling). We have a truck and it's only $7 to drop off a load at the dump.

We decided we'd try being our own garbage and recycling service. It could be the hour, gas, and mileage to hit the dump once a month won't be worth the $28 saved, but we won't know until we've tried!

Carrie had to go to the dealership about a spare key, so we threw some stuff in to relieve ourselves of some accumulation.

Carrie was on the road to the dump when she heard on the radio, "Did you hear a loud noise? Smell smoke? Well they're related! The dump is on fire!"

That's right! The day we tried to go, the dump was closed (and would stay closed for days!).

Thankfully, the people at the dealership let Carrie drop off her load there.

"Did they have a separate bin for the recyclables?" I asked.

"I did not ask and I don't want to know!" Carrie replied.

Mission accomplished.....for this month. We still have a ton of cardboard boxes from moving.
