The Hardest Year Yet is in the books!

The year ended with a whisper. Half the kids were no shows and half the kids who needed to do something to pass did nothing (It took effort to fail this year, but some made that effort!).

My classes for the last week were boring. I hadn't planned any real activities other than "Do makeup work" and "Look at your phones."

I did manage to teach a few groups how to play Blokus, though. That was a worthwhile endeavor!

A little boredom wasn't bad for closure, though. Some kids used the scramble to get a few things in and earn the grade they wanted. Others got to talk to friends, relax a little, and see everything slowing down and switching over to summer.

I only had 3 kids in my final class on Friday when the final bell rang (and one wasn't even one of mine!).

We all made it through!

The question is: What will next year be like? We're getting a new principal (and 1 of the 3 AP's just emailed she's moving to Green county). One of the math department co-chairs left to be an Athletic Director at a rival HS. There's supposed to be a no cell-phone plan, but they're also changing up grading. Will the changes be good or onerous?

I'll start caring after a month or so of summer. For now, I'm just glad to have made it!
