Spirit Week

This week was Read-Across-America spirit week at school! I remembered to have him put on crazy socks and sandals Monday, but things took off when Carrie got involved.

She woke up on Tuesday to find a hat and line the inside with paper towels for Crazy Hat day (It kept the hat vertical). She even drove Shane in to school.

Wednesday, she woke up early (before my alarm!). Then she woke up Shane and took him downstairs to dye his hair purple.

She'd painted a pair of sunglasses with nail polish the night before. She cut a sleeve off a holed shirt and drove Shane to school mix-matched to the extreme!

Thursday, was wear green day. That was easy. I told Shane to put on green. He came downstairs and pulled down his pants to show me he was green through and through ("Don't do that at school, kid.").

Friday, was dress up as your favorite book character day. Shane asked if I could help him dress up as Harry Potter. I dodged by waking up Carrie. She must have been dreaming up ideas, because she woke up with a plan and put in in motion. Shane dressed up as Hank the cowdog. Carrie drove him in to school again (her costumes are not to be rushed by the bus!).

I don't know who enjoyed spirit week more. Carrie and Shane with the costumes, or me with watching them and taking the mornings off (I only had to wait at the bus stop twice!).
